Budweiser’s 2024 Super Bowl Ad Brings Back the Clydesdales—and a Moment That Melted Hearts

In Budweiser’s 2024 Super Bowl commercial, Old-School Delivery, the legendary Clydesdale horses return in a scene that feels lifted from a bygone era.

Set against a fierce winter storm, the ad follows the massive horses as they push through deep snow and bitter cold to deliver beer the old-fashioned way—slow, steady, and driven by heart. It’s a familiar image, but one that still carries weight: tradition moving forward, even when conditions are unforgiving.

The story begins with an aerial view of a small town blanketed in snow. Power is out, roads are closed, and the local bar is running low on Budweiser. With no modern solution in sight, the Clydesdales step in, silently inspiring their caretakers to make the delivery the way it used to be done.

Two Budweiser workers—one portrayed by real-life wholesaler Fred Dana—load a horse-drawn wagon with kegs as the Clydesdales prepare for the journey. Together, they brave the storm, pulling the cart through snow-covered streets toward a bar full of hopeful patrons.

But what truly stopped viewers in their tracks wasn’t just the strength of the horses—it was a quiet, beautiful moment of connection.

As the delivery nears its end, a loyal Labrador Retriever spots the wagon and trots ahead, guiding the team safely through the storm. Once the mission is complete, the ad closes with a tender scene: one of the towering Clydesdales lowering its head to gently nuzzle the helpful Lab. In the silence of the snow, the moment feels deeply human—and unforgettable.

According to Anheuser-Busch, Old-School Delivery marks the 46th Super Bowl appearance of the Budweiser Clydesdales, reinforcing their status as one of the most enduring symbols in Super Bowl advertising history.

“Budweiser has been synonymous with the Super Bowl for decades,” said Kristina Punwani, Head of Marketing at Budweiser USA. “This year, we wanted to bring fans back to what they love most—the iconic Clydesdales—and show our continued commitment to delivering for them.”

The commercial also follows a year of growth for the Budweiser Clydesdale family, with four new horses welcomed in 2023 at Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, Missouri, the brand’s official breeding facility.

Old-School Delivery aired during Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, as the Kansas City Chiefs faced the San Francisco 49ers.

In just a few quiet minutes, Budweiser once again proved why its Super Bowl ads endure—not because they shout, but because they tell simple stories about loyalty, teamwork, and connection that linger long after the final frame fades to black.
