Super Steal Twist on The Voice: Battle of Champions Gives Kelly Clarkson a Game-Changing Advantage

Season 29 of The Voice: Battle of Champions has already shaken things up with a new twist: only three veteran coaches—Adam Levine, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson—competing for top talent. The rivalry intensified with the introduction of the Triple Turn Competition, a mini-challenge during the Blind Auditions where Artists can earn turns from all three coaches.

Over three nights, the coaches tracked who was leading in Triple Turn Artists. By the final round, Levine and Clarkson were tied with three Triple Turn Artists each. The deciding moment came with Mikenley Brown’s raspy rendition of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, which turned all three chairs. When Brown chose Team Kelly, Clarkson and Levine were tied—but Clarkson edged ahead based on her track record with 2-Chair Turn Artists. A confetti cannon marked her victory, leaving her laughing and claiming the title: Triple Turn Champion

Winning the Triple Turn Competition comes with a special prize: the Super Steal, a once-per-season advantage during the Battles. Normally, coaches have one Steal to rescue an eliminated artist from another team, but Clarkson’s Super Steal trumps any other Steal attempts, giving her a unique strategic edge for the upcoming Battles.

Clarkson was thrilled about the opportunity: “I’m so excited to Super Steal to steal someone I love.” While Levine remained confident about his chances to win the season overall, fans are already buzzing about how the Super Steal could shake up the competition.

New episodes of The Voice air Mondays at 9/8c on NBC and stream the next day on Peacock.
