Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Message Sparked Attention — But Most TV Viewers Never Saw It

Bad Bunny delivered a powerful and politically charged message during his Super Bowl LX halftime show at Levi’s Stadium, but many watching from home missed it entirely.

The Puerto Rican superstar, who has been outspoken in his criticism of former President Donald Trump, took the stage in Santa Clara, California, amid controversy surrounding his selection as the halftime performer. Late in the show, the 31-year-old turned toward the camera as a message appeared on the stadium’s jumbotron reading: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”

However, NBC’s broadcast cut away at the moment the message appeared, showing only Bad Bunny and his dancers—leaving the statement visible only to fans inside the stadium.

Viewers quickly noticed the omission.

“Didn’t see it,” one fan wrote on X.
“Wasn’t shown to us!” another commented.
“C’mon NBC, do better than that,” a third added.

While the jumbotron message wasn’t aired, Bad Bunny did manage to share another statement with the national audience. Near the end of his performance, he held up a football bearing the words: “TOGETHER WE ARE AMERICA.”

The messages echoed sentiments Bad Bunny expressed earlier this month during his Grammy Awards acceptance speech, where he urged unity and criticized policies tied to the Trump administration.

“The hate gets more powerful with more hate,” he said at the time. “The only thing more powerful than hate is love. We have to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love.”

Super Bowl LX took place on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium, with NBC serving as the official broadcaster for the matchup between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite criticism from some viewers—and political backlash tied to his Spanish-language music—Bad Bunny’s halftime show became one of the night’s most talked-about moments, not just for what was performed on stage, but for what many believe was left unseen.
