Carrie Underwood’s Peaceful Blueberry Picking Interrupted by a Swarm of Bees

What began as a calm day in nature quickly turned into an unforgettable adventure for country superstar Carrie Underwood. Known for her powerhouse vocals on hits like “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” Carrie often escapes the spotlight to enjoy the simple pleasures of farm life at her Tennessee home—tending animals, growing fruits and veggies, and soaking in the peaceful outdoors.

But this past weekend, her quiet retreat took a surprising twist.

While picking blueberries in her private orchard, Carrie suddenly found herself surrounded by a massive swarm of bees. The unexpected visitors quickly took over the bushes she was near, forcing her to make a swift exit.

Sharing the incident with her fans on Instagram Stories on June 29, Carrie revealed she had harvested nearly eight gallons of blueberries before the buzzing takeover. Along with the story, she posted photos and videos showing the swarm hovering thickly over the orchard.

“Had to get out of the orchard when the bees started swarming,” she wrote alongside a video clip of the buzzing swarm.

Despite what could have been a frightening encounter, Carrie seemed remarkably calm—and even amused. She posted a close-up shot of herself near the buzzing bees gathered on a single blueberry bush, joking with her followers that if the bees were still there the next day, she might try catching them.

Now that her Las Vegas residency wrapped up in April and her stint as an American Idol judge ended in May, Carrie has more time to enjoy her farm life—and maybe even explore beekeeping as her next hobby!
