Just when fans thought “Worst Way” couldn’t get any hotter, Riley Green cranked the heat to an entirely new level. The country heartthrob dropped the official music video for his steamy single, and let’s just say—it’s not safe for weak hearts or slow internet.
In the days leading up to the release, Riley teased fans with sultry snippets on social media. A dropped robe here, a lingering stare there—it was clear something spicy was coming. But no one was fully prepared for just how intense this visual journey would be.
The video premiered at noon on Wednesday, February 12, and immediately sent shockwaves through fan circles. It begins innocently enough: Riley pulls up to a cozy tiny house in a vintage Bronco, dressed to impress with flowers and wine in hand. Inside, his mystery woman is setting a romantic table by candlelight. But that wholesome setup doesn’t last long.
The moment the door closes, passion explodes. Riley tosses aside the roses and the wine, making it clear dinner’s not on the menu. As the music swells, so does the chemistry. His lyrics say it all:
“Tonight, I ain’t bringin’ no wine / Tonight, I ain’t bringin’ no roses / Talkin’ would take too much time, I think I just better show you…”
From there, it’s all heat and havoc. Walls take a beating, glass shatters, and the couple can’t keep their hands—or lips—off each other. The scene jumps to a fancy restaurant, but even that can’t contain the tension. Fans were left speechless as the woman crawls across the table and straddles Riley mid-dinner, kicking off a kiss that left the entire dining room—and the internet—staring in shock.
The video continues with a nod to cinematic romance: the next morning, she’s perched on the kitchen counter in red lingerie and Riley’s sport coat, while he casually eats cereal in his robe. Fans quickly caught the clever homage to Bull Durham’s iconic scene with Susan Sarandon and Kevin Costner.
And just when things seem to calm down, Riley—shirtless and smoldering—scoops her into his arms, knocks over a lamp, and disappears into the shadows of the bedroom. Fade to black.
Between the steamy scenes, Green narrates the story from behind the wheel of his Bronco, his signature baritone dripping with desire as he delivers raw, stripped-down vocals over the track’s minimal production.
“I want you in the worst way, my hands are needin’ your hips / Want the first taste of whiskey to be off your lips…”
Since its release, “Worst Way” has become a breakout hit from Riley’s Way Out Here EP. During a recent interview with Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country, Riley opened up about the inspiration behind the song, citing powerful influences like Eric Church’s “Wrecking Ball” and John Mayer’s “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.”
“I wanted to write something that had that emotional weight—something intense, but country,” he said. “’Worst Way’ gave me that feeling.”
Now, fans can expect to see the fire come to life on stage as Riley Green gears up for his Damn Country Music Tour kicking off in March.
Whether you’re watching for the music, the passion, or just to see what all the buzz is about—one thing’s certain: Riley Green’s “Worst Way” just became one of the most talked-about country videos of the year.
