For most artists, awards are the ultimate symbols of achievement—glittering proof of years of dedication, talent, and hard work. But for country music star Keith Urban, trophies are not for display in his home. In fact, most of his prestigious accolades aren’t even in the same city, or household.
In a candid interview on the Australian radio show Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, Urban shared a heartfelt secret about the whereabouts of his many awards. Contrary to fan expectations, his trophies don’t line the shelves of his home or that of his wife, actress Nicole Kidman. Instead, Urban sends the majority of his awards to a very special place: his mother’s house in Queensland, Australia.
“I’ve sent a lot to my mom up in Queensland,” Urban said. “She’s got them on display there, it’s really nice.” This decision reflects his thoughtful approach to life—choosing not to fill his own home with accolades. “Out of sight, out of mind,” he explained, indicating that keeping his living spaces free of trophies helps him focus on the present while still honoring his past. At his mother’s home, the awards are lovingly displayed and well cared for—adding sentimental value beyond just recognition.
But there’s one award that Urban considers truly exceptional. Among all the honors he’s received, one holds a permanent, proud place in his home: the ACM Triple Crown Award. This elite prize is only given to artists who have won the Academy of Country Music’s three major titles—New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
“It’s one of the rare ones that I actually put on the piano,” Urban revealed. “I don’t have trophies out anywhere, but that one I put on the piano in the middle of the living room.”
