American Idol Season 24 is shaking things up in a big way — and now, early spoilers are giving fans a first look at who’s moving forward and what they’ll be singing next.
This season introduced major format changes, starting with auditions held entirely at Belmont University in Franklin, Tennessee, followed by a reimagined Hollywood Week — now known as Nashville Week. By the end of that round, just 30 contestants remained, advancing to the Ohana Round, filmed at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii.
From there, the competition narrowed again. The Top 20 performances were filmed over two days (January 29–30) in Hawai‘i, with contestants singing in front of judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Carrie Underwood, alongside host Ryan Seacrest.
A New Twist This Season
Adding a fresh layer to the judging process, American Idol introduced a panel of “Industry Tastemakers”, who helped evaluate the performances. These insiders also played a role in awarding the season’s Platinum Tickets, selecting three standout contestants after watching the Top 30 perform in Hawai‘i.
The Ohana Round Schedule
The Ohana Round will unfold over three weeks:
-
Monday, March 9 – Top 30 performances
-
Monday, March 16 – Top 20 (Part 1)
-
Monday, March 23 – Top 20 (Part 2)
Country superstar Brad Paisley joins as a guest mentor, and Dancing with the Stars pro Sasha Farber was also spotted in Hawai‘i, according to ABC media photos.
Note: As with all spoilers, details are subject to change — but trusted sources suggest the vast majority of names listed below are accurate.
