American Idol finalist Brooks Rosser is finally opening up about his relationship with Rae Boyd—and according to him, the timeline is not what fans expected.
The romance first made headlines during Disney Night, when host Ryan Seacrest turned a routine on-stage interview into a viral moment. After Brooks’ performance, a few playful questions quickly led to a full-blown reveal—especially when Rae suddenly appeared on stage, embracing him in front of a cheering audience.

But while the moment felt spontaneous to viewers, Brooks now says their connection had been building long before that night.
Speaking after the show, he confirmed what fans had been suspecting for weeks: the two didn’t just meet on stage—they bonded behind the scenes. Both originally from Baltimore, Brooks shared that they began spending time together in between rounds during the early stages of the competition.
“We kind of hung out… and we clicked,” he said simply.
That connection reportedly began during the pre-taped rounds in late 2025, well before the live shows kicked off. And even after Rae’s elimination just one week before Disney Night, their story didn’t stop there.
“We’ve been able to see each other,” Brooks revealed, adding that they had already gone on a few dates.
Keeping things grounded, he joked about their low-key outings: “I don’t have that kind of money,” he laughed when asked about fancy Hollywood dates—giving fans a glimpse into the down-to-earth dynamic between the two.
Looking back, many viewers now say the signs were always there.
Clips of rehearsals and duet videos had already sparked speculation online, with fans pointing out their natural chemistry. One viral moment in particular—where Brooks was seen watching Rae perform—had people convinced something more was going on.
