Just days after their emotional goodbye on American Idol, Brooks Rosser and Rae Boyd have given fans a heartwarming update—proving their love story is still going strong offstage.
Although Brooks was eliminated from the competition on April 27, his journey didn’t end there. Shortly after returning home, he reunited with Rae, who had been voted off two weeks earlier. The couple wasted no time reconnecting, stepping out for a cozy date night that quickly caught fans’ attention. Brooks shared a sweet photo of the moment on his Instagram Story, with Rae reposting it and simply captioning, “Night out :)”—a small message that spoke volumes.
Their reunion felt natural, especially since both Brooks and Rae are from the same area in Maryland. Being back home made it easy for them to pick up right where they left off after weeks of competition, pressure, and time apart.
Their relationship, however, didn’t just begin on the show—it started much earlier. During auditions and Hollywood Week last fall, the two quietly built a connection behind the scenes. “We hung out in between rounds and just clicked,” Brooks previously shared, reflecting on how their bond first formed away from the spotlight.
For a while, their romance remained a secret—even from fellow contestants. Rae later revealed that when others finally found out, the reaction was pure excitement. In a high-pressure environment filled with competition, their love story became something uplifting that everyone could celebrate. After keeping things private for so long, the couple officially confirmed their relationship during the April 20 episode, when Rae returned to surprise Brooks following his Top 9 performance—a moment fans now call their “hard launch.”
Since then, their connection has only grown stronger. In fact, Brooks even hinted that the pair had already exchanged the “L word,” signaling just how serious things have become.
Now, with the competition behind them, both are looking forward to something simple yet meaningful: a normal relationship. Rae shared that they’re excited to just “live life,” while also staying focused on their individual careers.
Their American Idol journey isn’t completely over, though. Both Brooks and Rae are set to return to Los Angeles on May 11 for the Season 24 finale, where they’ll join other eliminated contestants for one final performance as a winner is crowned.
While neither may have taken home the Idol title, fans are convinced they walked away with something just as special—a genuine connection that continues to shine long after the stage lights have dimmed.
