Dianne Buswell Jokes “Call the Police” as She Shares What She’s Refusing to Do During Pregnancy

Dianne Buswell has shown she’s taking pregnancy in her stride – and with her trademark humour firmly intact.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Joe Sugg, recently had fans laughing after jokingly clapping back at comments on a candid social media post.

Dianne and Joe announced their happy news in September, revealing they are expecting a baby boy. The couple, who first met on Strictly back in 2018 and reached the final together, shared the announcement in a sweet video set to Tiny Dancer by Elton John, writing: “Our little baby boy. We cannot wait to meet you.” The post was quickly flooded with messages of congratulations from fellow Strictly stars and fans alike.

Despite her pregnancy, Dianne returned to the dancefloor for the 2025 series of Strictly, where she was partnered with Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis. Sadly, the pair were forced to withdraw from the competition after Stefan suffered an injury. Dianne later reunited with him for a final group performance during the December 20 final, which crowned Karen Carney and Carlos Gu as this year’s champions.

As she counts down to welcoming her son, Dianne has been sharing snippets of pregnancy life with her followers. In a recent TikTok video, she revealed a clever – and very relatable – fashion hack, explaining she’s refusing to splash out on maternity jeans.

Showing that her regular jeans no longer zipped over her growing bump, Dianne simply left them undone and folded her underwear over the top, captioning the clip: “When you refuse to buy maternity jeans.”

The post quickly attracted attention, including a few critical comments. One user warned, “Never do that,” prompting Dianne to fire back with a laugh: “Well I just did. Call the police.” When another suggested she should “just not wear jeans,” she replied: “Maybe I want to. So I will.”

Fans praised her for keeping things real and embracing pregnancy on her own terms.

The light-hearted post comes shortly after an emotional moment for the dancer, who recently returned to the UK after spending time in Australia with her parents, Mark and Rina. Saying goodbye, Dianne shared a heartfelt video captioned: “When you live on the other side of the world and this part never gets easier.” She added on Instagram: “Sending love to anyone who lives far from their loved ones.”

With her signature positivity, honesty and humour, Dianne continues to share her journey into motherhood – proving that pregnancy, like dancing, is best handled with confidence and a smile. 💛
