Jelly Roll, Kid Rock, and Friends Turn Nashville Bar into an Unforgettable Southern Rock Jam

It was supposed to be a quiet night in downtown Nashville—until Jelly Roll grabbed the mic.

The Beautifully Broken tour may be over, and Jelly may have famously thrown his phone into the river after his final show, but clearly, the man can’t stay away from a stage—or his fans—for long.

A Surprise Performance at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk

Earlier this week, Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Rock ‘n’ Roll Steakhouse was packed with the usual energy of Broadway nightlife. But when Jelly Roll walked in with comedian pals Tony Hinchcliffe and Bert Kreischer, the vibe shifted. Suddenly, anything felt possible—and it was.

What started as a night out among friends quickly turned into an electric jam session when Jelly Roll stepped on stage with house band Hippies & Cowboys to sing his emotional chart-topper “Save Me.” His gritty vocals and bare-soul delivery turned the room into a confessional—fans swaying, singing, and tearing up right alongside him.’

From Soul to Southern Rock Chaos

But the night didn’t stop there.

Hinchcliffe, known for his comedy, proved once again he can shred a drum set just as hard, hopping behind the kit for a blazing rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man.” Bert Kreischer? He did what Bert does—ripped off his shirt and owned the moment with pure chaotic joy.

Then came the cherry on top: Kid Rock himself joined the jam, and the crowd erupted as the impromptu band tore through a raw, rowdy version of “Can’t You See” by the Marshall Tucker Band.

A Broadway Night for the Books

In a city that lives and breathes country music, nights like this still feel rare. Spontaneous. Magical.

Jelly Roll didn’t need a tour bus or a light show to make this moment legendary. Just a mic, a few buddies, and a love for the music that runs deep through his bones—and through Nashville itself.

It’s the kind of night you tell your friends about for years:

“Remember that random Wednesday when Jelly Roll and Kid Rock covered Skynyrd with a comedian on drums and a shirtless Bert Kreischer? Yeah, I was there.”

Because in Nashville, sometimes the best shows are the ones you never saw coming.
